Westland, a Boston based Pop Rock band, has been described as “one of the hardest working groups that I've ever encountered. Their outstanding songs and energetic live shows match their work ethic. This is a group worthy of your attention” by Eugene Foley of Foley Entertainment. Their debut album, “Don't Take It Personal”, which was recorded with Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Blink-182, Something Corporate) sold over 30,000 copies. Alternative Press has also described their sound as “Coheed and Cambria’s Claudio Sanchez in All Time Low”.
The band originally formed in 2009, but when the original band members realized they had musical differences, they respectively decided to go their own ways. Singer Aaron Bonus found Cody and Alex while
they were helping out other bands on the 2011 Summer Warped Tour. They got to talking and quickly realized that they wanted the same things out of music as well as life. Shortly after, they posted on Craig's list for a
new bassist. After receiving a high number of interested candidates, they gave the spot to Nick because of his his skill set, hard work and amazing personality.
Now a completed band, Westland has officially shed the skin of their earlier days and set out to create a sound that combines their influences. The twins, Cody and Alex, bring sounds from Blink-182 and Bring Me the Horizon, Matt pulls his influences from Radiohead, Nick from Coheed and Cambria, and Aaron from everything to the Pixies to Oasis.Together they have created a solid alternative, edgy, pop rock that is accessible to anyone, regardless of their age.
Their songs have been featured on ESPN, MTV, and E! as well as charted at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Northeast Chart. Over the past three years they have played over 400 shows, including the Glamour Kills Tour and the Vans Warped Tour 2011/2012. Westland has played along side of with such names as We The Kings, Rookie of The Year, and Every Avenue.
The band just finished recording their EP, Intimacy Without Intricacy, with Shep Goodman (Bayside, Four Year Strong, He Is We). The EP’s expected release is early 2013.
