When was the last time you had a "ME" day?
It was two Sundays ago. My husband took our daughter out for a few hours and for the first time in a LONG LONG LONG time I didn't jump up to get something done. Work could wait, grocery store could wait, house was relatively clean. I turned on the TV, caught up on some shows with the DVR, and painted my nails. Toes and hands. It was a glorious two hours. But if two hours could recharge me so well, what would an entire day do?
Especially as a working Mom and wife... I feel like fewer and fewer minutes of my day actually belong to me. Recently, I hit a very stressful stride at work. I would sit in my car and have to talk myself into to getting up and walking into work. That's not right! I love my job... and knew something needed to be done. I NEEDED A MENTAL HEALTH DAY!
Most of us have them. Personal days. Sick days. Vacation days.... but how often do we take them? When should you take one? Here are some signs that its time to take a ME day.
1. You're not sleeping well. You toss and turn worried about all that you have to do.
2. You are stressing about stuff that happened LAST WEEK
3. You're snapping at your spouse, friends, and coworkers.
