The Miley Controversy!

The Miley Controversy!

I don't know why I continue to fight an uphill battle.  People are never going to stop being what I call 'internet trolls'.  Never.  However, I find myself giving it attention anyway, because it fascinates me.

I will never cease to be amazed by the negativity and hatred spewed by complete strangers on social media.

Don't get me wrong. I hate. I hate all the time...ESPECIALLY online! But, unlike 'internet trolls', I do it in the privacy of my own head!

So, last night, I met Miley Cyrus.  This made some random strangers very, very angry.

I mean, I guess I can understand how offensive it must be for the hit music station's co-host to take a picture with a hit music artist???

It's a job, people. I love my job. It's fun, carefree and so exhilarating at times, but it's what I do...for a living.  It's what puts food on the table and pays the bills.

This was one of those 'once in a lifetime' type of things.  I needed a photo with a celebrity for a wall of fame type thing for our building and I asked to get a picture with the next celebrity who came to town.  It just happened to be Miley that was next on the list.  I didn't choose her.  I am not a huge fan or anything.  She was just next on the list.

I may not approve of her 'do whatever you want' type attitude or the path she's chosen after her Hannah Montana days, but I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity that was given to me.

Not to mention, judging her is NOT up to me.  I am not her Mother, sister or friend.  And I know she's just an entertainer. A performer.  I don't know the real Miley.  I can't judge a persona...an image.

I might have preferred the artist I met be Lorde or Beyoncé, but that option wasn't given to me at that particular moment.

I just wanted to write this blog to remind people that taking time out of your day to spread negativity online is not making this world a better place.

If something is hurting you in your life, please don't try to hurt someone else's.  Life does a good enough job doing that on its own.

Chances are, whatever you're saying based on what you think you know is quite different from what is actually the case.

I hope you have an amazing day!
