Florida is the thunderstorm capital of the United States. The "lightning belt" in Florida is an area from between Orlando and Tampa to south along the west coast to Fort Myers and east to Lake Okeechobee... Basically this means spending a lot of time indoors!

I found a list of 25 things to do in Orlando on a rainy day. Beyond low-key activities like watching movies and playing games on your tablet, there are many interactive activities to do indoors to ride out the Florida storm season.

Once again, the Urban ReThink creative space raises funds with Orlando's oddest competition: A gaudy, galloping "race" of broomstick ponies where jockeys can win by finishing in a random place or just showing a little flair. Bring your own decked-out broomstick

9AM Baldwin Park- 5k Walk/Run to Help Benefit Lyme Disease Victims LymeAid is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing awareness and treatment options available for those who suffer from Lyme disease and other co-infections. Donations will be utilized to help Lyme sufferers get the help they need to thrive rather than just survive.

12PM Uptown Altamonte Family Fest- Cranes Roost Park  Enjoy live entertainment, a kids inflatables play area, wildlife exhibits, kiddie train rides, Police and Fire Department displays and demonstrations including an in-flight helicopter rescue demonstration by SCSO, giveaways and prizes, summer camp information, games and activities, a fishing derby, face painters, snacks and much more
